New in blue

Started on this one today. Inspired by a talk given by Ron Freeborn last week at the Eynsham Arts Group. This one has been painted directly onto canvas without prior sketching and working the paint whilst still wet.
This is just the background. The plan is to work some yellow tulips into the foreground.

Thank you. I love them too. I'm a sucker for blues :-)

You’ve got a really interesting effect going on here…almost like layers of coloured tissue paper…lovely blending of the colours, very Monet…Can’t wait to see what happens when the tulips go on over the top :)

I love the looseness of this painting, and the colours are beautiful.

I actually like it as it just as it is here, without the tulips.

Thanks everyone. After cocking this one up completely by overpainting it by putting in tulips (what was I thinking?), I am taking it back to how it looks here. I like it best this way too.
