Done in 60 seconds...

Here is the red poppy. It's 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide.

This canvas is a recently completed commission and I took photos throughout all the stages of painting. There are about 60 in all.

I have stitched them all together to make a short animated film of the poppy coming together.

This is an ongoing learning process...I think I need to take more photos during the stages, and I need to work on keeping the same angles and lighting. Trouble is, you get carried away with the painting and I kept forgetting about taking pictures and not moving the easel. That said, the animation has worked quite well. I'll be animating another canvas very soon......

Thanks Spiderman. Although not an intended effect..that was just me trying to squeeze against the studio wall to get the whole canvas in shot and the angles going all over the place. Next time I'm going to set up my tripod and keep it in the same position!

Really like your painting animation Sue. It’s fascinating to see how the picture develops as it progresses. I love the way you painted the background flowers over the black…really bold :) I’ve been toying with the idea of videoing various stages of the paintings I’m doing…but as I don’t actually own a video camera, I haven’t quite got around to it yet :) Perhaps I should rectify that…
