Snapshot from the studio

After a break I have decided to go back to bold florals. The Autumn colours are particularly vibrant this year and have prompted the colours behind the latest canvas. This one is big: 30 x 24" and destined for the Arts Group exhibition next week (if I can finish it that is). Today I started it and this is just getting some paint down to get the feel and atmosphere. Much more to do yet.

I think I've said it before, but I'm quite envious of the Eynsham community as it appears across a few of the blogs that drop by here.

After a year of refusals, maybe I should set up a "Sherwood" art group!

I like the way you're art embraces a range of styles, always full of energy.

Definitely start an Art Group!! :-) Here in Eynsham there is a wonderful close knit group who share beer and ideas at least once a week and if you are ever in this part of the world you'd be welcomed most warmly. And thanks for the words of encouragement. I have been in a bit of a slump of late...but the break has been good because I feel refreshed and envigoured (is that a word?) to get back to the abstracted florals which got me into painting in the first place. But I do like the odd dabble elsewhere and the old adage that a little bit of what you fancy does you good holds true for artistic meanderings also ;-)
