Thinking landscape after all.

I can't help wishing I'd painted these as if they were abandoned on a sandy beach. Well, its what I imagine anyway. Perhaps the background is best left neutral so viewers can make their own narrative...thanks for the suggestions all. :-)
Decision now is....what frame???? This work is destined for the Threadneedle Exhibition/Competition in London next month...so I need to decide soon.

I know what you mean about the sandy background…especially as you’ve got such a strong sunny shadow, but I think the slightly blueish tint to the grey background sets the shoes off really well, it shows up their warmth…these ones have a stronger presence than previous ones, they’re getting better as you work more into them, I can imagine people finding and projecting many different stories onto the wearer of these shoes…it’s a really lovely, touching painting Susan :)

Don’t worry about the frame until you’ve got several more of these done…they’re going to make a superb exhibition, just keep doing them for now :)

Thank you :0.....but...I DO need to decide a frame for these because I want to enter these for the Threadneedle comp...so at the moment I'm thinking along the same lines as the blue shoes as regards frame....big and white so the painting isn't 'enclosed' iyswim.

In that case I’d definitely go for something like the RA frame, that works really well, giving the shoes lots of space while drawing you in :)

How about a canvas frame?
I really like the shiney white frame with the shiney red shoes.
